The executive board committee helps guide the leadership and decision-making of the union. Board members work together to oversee union activities, manage policies and finances, and ensure the union operates in the best interest of its members

A union steward is a worker who represents fellow union members on the job. They help resolve workplace issues, explain union policies, and make sure the employer follows the union contract.

Chief Patrick Holmes

The communication committee helps keep members informed about important updates, events, negotiations, and workplace issues. The committee shares information through meetings, emails, newsletters, social media, and other forms of communication to encourage member involvement and strengthen unity within the union.

The health and safety committee helps protect workers, address workplace hazards, and ensure managemnt complies with safety laws, regulations, and collective bargaining agreements.

The women's fair practice committee focuses on ensuring all members are treated fairly and have equal opportunities to participate and lead. Plays a key role in promoting equity, inclusion, worker protections, and advocacy within the union.

Chair Nicole Wills-Carroll

The veterans committee helps support, engage, and advocate for veterans, military-connected workers, and their families within the union. Strengthens solidarity by recognizing the leadership, service, and unique workplace concerns of veteran members.

The legislative and political committee works extensively to build relationships with their Members of Congress and their staff. That way when we face a piece of legislation that could seriously hurt our members, we can activate LPCs to talk to and use the capital they have built with the office to protect our brothers and sisters. 

Chair Jeffrey Barlow

The Young Organizing Unionists for the Next Generation seeks to mobilize young union members to become leaders for social change within AFGE and the Labor Movement. Members under 40 and mentors over 40 work together to include young workers in the union structure and keep them engaged in working class issues

Chair Eli'sha Hunter

The pride committee helps support the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, and others within the pride spectrum (LGBTQ+) membership as well as their allies and to educate all of AFGE on the workplace and safety issues facing this community within AFGE and the Labor Movement.

The social committee is dedicated to fostering fellowship, inclusion, and member engagement by planning and coordinating social, recreational, and community-building events. The committee works to strengthen relationships among members, promote union solidarity, and create opportunities for members and their families to connect outside the workplace. Through events, celebrations, volunteer activities, and member appreciation initiatives, the committee helps build a positive and united union culture.
